This quarry, close to Bath, was a
major source of building stone that can be clearly seen in the nearby
houses. It was also used in the construction of many of Bath’s major
buildings during the Regency period when Bath became a very
fashionable place to be. There are a lot of entrances to the quarry,
but many of these have been sealed with grills to protect the bat
population living here.
