I
will not disclose the location of these tunnels at the
owner's request, to prevent unwanted visitors. The tunnel was found
under the building during restoration works. Some sections have had to
be filled in for safety reasons but a large portion is currently being
restored. This comprises a flight of stairs leading down to
passageways, the main one leading to the well. This well could have
been accessed on two levels, on the surface and underground. The well
could have been used from the surface by local industries; there was a
tannery and a brickworks nearby who could have utilised it.
Information regarding this site is not clear, and I am making my own
assumptions in this case.
