The Lower Oil Mill tunnels are a network of tunnels that were constructed in the early 19th century, if not before. During the Second World War, they were used as storage for oil. While walking around these tunnels it is very clear to see the different historical phases in construction. The Lower Oil Mill tunnels were seriously damaged by fire in March 1995.
